Our vision is to encourage and direct each child in all areas of their physical, social, emotional and spiritual development. We encourage each child to be unique and that we are all different but special in our own way.
Our Aim
Our aim is to provide a safe and loving Christian environment where children have the chance to grow and develop at their own pace and reach their full potential at all stages of their development.
School Hours
Half Day 06h30 - 12h30
Full Day 06h30 - 17h45
A R500 non-refundable registration fee.
Holiday care R50 per day.
The school will be closed for the December Holidays.
We generally follow the schools terms and public holidays as stipulated by the Gauteng Education Department.
We reserve the right to close the school on certain days during the year, depending on circumstances and public holidays.
Education And Curriculum
At Little Heffalumps Early Learning Centre, we have created a curriculum that will cater for the developmental needs and characteristics of the pre-school child. We have incorporated many activities and teaching methods from the Montessori Method of teaching as well as the curriculum that is required by the government. Our teachers are qualified and/or have experience working with pre-school children.
Our Classroom Have The Following Learning Areas
Creative area for art activities.
We have a small library where we encourage children to read.
Contruction area.
Quiet area for educational play with puzzles and games.
We have a themed table. In each class the teacher uses the themes to encourage each child to share their viewa on the topic and encourages the child to speak in a group environment.
Each class enjoys music and dance/actions on a regular basis.
At Little Heffalumps we believe that children learn and develop through play and we have a lovely play area which has climbing appartus, swings and a sandpit, water play (in summer) and sensory tray to encourage active play and gross-motor developments.
We do a lot of developmental games and exercise to help develop ball skills and stimulate gross motor development.

Birthdays
Birthdays are very special and exciting for your child and we try to make the day as special as we can with a crown and a birthday ring. You are welcome to have a birthday party with your child's school friends in the morning during snack time. Please make arrangements, well in advance with the school.
Meals
Your child is welcome to have breakfast at school with their friends so feel free to send in breakfast for your child. Please ensure that your child is ay school before 08h00.
We do provide a mid-morning and afternoon snack but you are welcome to send in something small incase your child does not like what we have prepared or if their tummies get hungry.
A fully cooked lunch is provided.
